Anthropic, a leading AI startup, has unveiled a new Voice Mode feature for its Claude AI assistant, aiming to provide users with a more dynamic and hands-free conversational experience. This development positions Claude alongside other major AI platforms that offer voice interaction capabilities.
The Voice Mode is currently being rolled out in beta for English-speaking users on both iOS and Android devices. It operates on Claude’s latest Sonnet 4 model, allowing users to engage in spoken conversations with the AI assistant. This feature is particularly beneficial for users who prefer or require hands-free interaction, such as when multitasking or on the move.
Users can seamlessly switch between text and voice inputs within the same conversation. The Voice Mode offers five distinct voice personalities, enabling users to personalize their interaction experience. Additionally, real-time transcription is displayed during chats, enhancing accessibility and user engagement.
For paid subscribers, the Voice Mode integrates with Google Workspace, granting Claude access to calendars, documents, and Gmail through voice commands. This integration streamlines workflows and enhances productivity by allowing users to manage tasks and retrieve information using voice prompts.
